Sometimes a trend comes along that’s easy for me to pass on (for instance, crop tops or plastic jeans) and then there are those trends that I instantly fall in love with. The later is where I’m at when it comes to the Jumpsuit trend. I’ve been in love with the jumpsuit since I first saw one on a retailers website in early 2017. There is just something about these one piece outfits that I’m drawn to. If I had to guess, I’d say it’s the fact that no effort is required in outfit preparation. Just like a dress, you put it on, and you’re done. Plus they come in so many varieties that it’s easy to find the right one for the right occasion. I’ve seen women wearing them while out on date night, walking along the beach, shopping in the mall, and even at New York Fashion Week. I’m telling you, they are the PERFECT everyday, go to outfit!
A lot of jumpsuits are sleeveless. At first, this deterred me from purchasing them, but then I saw all over Instagram, women wearing sleeveless jumpsuits with a t-shirt layered underneath. Why had this never crossed my mind? Such an easy fix, and a really cute look! Plus I love the versatility this provides. You can completely change the look just by adding a plain t-shirt the first time, and then layer with a striped tee or denim jacket the next time you wear it. The possibilities are endless.
This red jumpsuit, is a favorite! The wide legs and smocked top make it a great addition to my jumpsuit collection. I’m loving it paired with a white tee for summer, and come fall, I’ll pair it with a denim or suede jacket for cooler days, and a button down for a little dressier look.
Check out some my favorites below! Some I already own, and there are many more I want to purchase. There’s one I even plan on taking me with to Fashion Week this year. Can you guess what one it is?

When it comes to my summer wardrobe, I tend to gravitate toward dresses and skirts. I’m not a big fan of shorts, and wearing jeans is what I do all year, so when I see a summer dress or skirt that catches my eye, I tend to buy it. The thing I love most about wearing a dress is it’s an easy outfit. No matching or coordinating needed.
For summer, I’m all about prints! I love a good floral, tropical, or fruit print. These just scream summer and they are so fun to wear. Besides a fun print, I also like my dresses to hit at or below the knee and have sleeves. I hate my knees and I’m all about dressing modest! Let’s be honest, no one wants to see a mom running around with her bra straps showing and her butt cheeks hanging out.
However, just because a dress doesn’t have sleeves, doesn’t steer me away. I’ll just add a thin tee underneath or layer a denim jacket or cardigan over top. I feel this gives you multiple ways to style the same dress.
The dress I’m wearing here is the perfect example. I’ve styled it by adding a white t-shirt underneath as well as adding a denim jacket. I love the way it turned out! Next time I wear this dress, I think I’ll wear a navy and white striped tee underneath, a straw hat, and some slip on sandals to give it a more casual look.
I say this a lot, but don’t be afraid to think a little out of the box when styling your outfits. As long as you love the outcome, that’s all that matters!
There are so many cute and modest dresses for moms this season! Check out all my favorites below. Let me know if you find one you love, I’m sure my closet could use a few more this summer.

Each summer brings with it a few new fashion trends, and one of the biggest trends this year, is that of the Straw Bag. These bags come in all shapes and sizes. You can find straw bags in the form of clutches, circle bags, crossbodies, and even large totes. The natural color of these totes make them the perfect summer accessory. They pair well with everything from shorts and jeans to skirts and dresses. It’s the perfect choice for your go to bag this summer.
Now when I refer to the “straw bag,” I’m also including the popular rattan and wicker bags as well. I have this one and love it and I think this summer, I’ll be adding this one and this one to my growing bag collection.
According to Stacy London and Clinton Kelly, (hosts of What Not to Wear) the way to turn an okay look into a really great one is to add four things: Color, Texture, Pattern and Shine. One of the best ways to add texture to a look, is by adding it in your accessories. So a bag (whether it be made from wicker, rattan, or straw) helps create that texture interest in your everyday outfit.
This summer, add a straw bag to your closet and you’ll have texture taken care of. Below are some of my favorite bags for the season. Let me know which one is your favorite!
