Today is National Espadrilles Day! I’m actually really excited about this day, because espadrilles are my new favorite type of shoe for Spring and Summer. There are so many cute flats, sandals, and wedges that all fall in the espadrille family.  So what are espadrilles? According to the dictionary,  espadrilles are, “a light canvas shoe with a plaited fiber sole.”

I think the reason I’m loving espadrilles is because they are super comfortable (even the wedges). Plus, they come in so many different colors, prints and patterns, as well as price points.

I have rounded up ten of my favorite espadrilles.  The best part is, they are all under $100. Celebrate this fun holiday by adding a pair to your spring wardrobe now.

  1. Blush Espadrilles – I own these and wear them probably 4-5 times a week.  They are that good!
  2. Stripe Espadrille Flats – These are calling my name! I think I’ll be adding these to my espadrille collection asap.  Plus they are on sale for under $40.
  3. Wedge Sandals – These are my favorite go to sandal in my closet. They are a great dupe to the more expensive Marc Fisher pair.
  4. Black Flatform Sandals – The perfect black sandal.
  5. White Espadrille Wedge – Loving these white wedges for the spring and summer months.
  6. Pink Flatform Sandals – Love the trim pattern. Plus they’re pink, it doesn’t get much better.
  7. Ruffle Wedge Sandal – How cute are these sandals?  That ruffle detail is perfection.
  8. Peach Espadrille Wedge – Loving the wrap tie and the color!
  9. Tan Flatform Sandal – If you’re going to add one espadrille to your shoe collection, have it be this one.  The perfect neutral!
  10. Yellow Espadrille Wedge – There is just something so springy about a yellow shoe.

National Levi Strauss Day

If you were asked to name three brands of jeans in five seconds, first, could you do it? And second, I’m willing to bet the farm that one of the brands you’d mention would be Levi Strauss.  Am I right?  Levi’s have been around forever! In fact, they first debuted in 1873 and have been a pretty popular choice for jeans since that day.  If I’m being honest, when thinking of Levi Strauss, I actually think of jeans for men. They’re the brand my dad has always worn, whether it was to work, to dinner, or running errands. So in my mind Levi’s has always equaled men’s wear…until recently.

If you haven’t already figured this out, the internet is a great source for fashion.  A few months ago, I started seeing models, popular fashion bloggers, and actresses rocking the Levi brand.  Most, if not of all of these “fashion experts,” were raving about their Levi’s and how they were quickly becoming their favorite pair of denim, not to mention comfortable, trendy, and affordable.

Since I’m always on the lookout for a great pair of jeans, (I pretty much wear denim every single day) I thought I’d give them a try.  I decided to purchase the Levi’s 721 Skinny Jeans. I loved the distressed look and even better, they were on sale!  When they arrived, I quickly tried them on, and fell in love!  They fit like a glove (go up a size), have a higher waist, and are so comfortable! Plus, I loved the big holes in the knees. It was now apparent to me why all these “fashion moguls” were giving them such high reviews.

If you are looking to add a new pair of jeans to your wardrobe, I suggest trying something new, and going with a pair of Levi Strauss.  They have tons of style options, price points, and fits.  I think you’ll be impressed! Plus, why not celebrate today’s Holiday, of National Levi Strauss Day, and add a pair of the first ever made denim to your closet?
