Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

T-2 days until the biggest sale of the year…The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! It starts this week, and I am super excited to get a jump start on my Fall wardrobe.  This sale can be extremely overwhelming, and so I’ve come up with some pointers to help you prepare for the big sale.

  • What is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and Why Shop it?
    • This is my all time favorite sale that happens during the year. In my opinion, it’s better than Black Friday.  The sale lasts for three weeks, and Nordstrom heavily discounts all areas of the store.  Men’s, Women’s, Children’s, Shoes, Jewelry, Handbags, even designer items. It’s the perfect time to stock up on those items that you love, and want for the upcoming Fall season. Yes, even though it is still summer, start thinking ahead to those cooler months because  a ton of the new fall items will be heavily discounted during this time.
  • When does the sale begin?
    • If you are a Nordstrom cardholder, you can begin shopping the sale this week!  Early access starts Thursday, July 13 and runs through the 20th.  This means, you get to shop the sale before the general public.  If you are not a cardholder, you can begin shopping the sale July 21 and it will run through August 7.
  • Do Items sell out quickly?
    • Yes!  Popular items tend to sell out within the first few days. My advice, check out the Sale Catalog  and make a list of your favorite, must have items, or add them to your shopping bag.  That way, you’ll be all set to go come Thursday.  Because popular items do sell out quickly, if you are unsure on sizing, grab two or three sizes, that way you are sure to get the correct size, without risking the chance of your size selling out. The great part about shopping with Nordstrom is they have free shipping and free returns, so use this to your advantage.
  • Check back throughout the sale as I will be updating often with my favorites from the sale.  Good luck and enjoy your shopping!

Red, White, & Blue

The Fourth of July is one of my absolute favorite holidays!  I love celebrating the freedoms we enjoy and remembering how lucky we are to live in such a wonderful nation.  Each Fourth of July is different for us.  Sometimes we hit the local parade, have a BBQ, and then head out to watch fireworks.  Other years, we skip the parade, still BBQ, and do fireworks at home.  Even though each years activities are different, I still experience the same feelings of gratitude for all that I have, especially for my freedom. What a true blessing it is to live in the greatest nation in all the world!

One thing that never seems to change, is the wearing of red, white, or blue.  Whether you pair a white tee with a pair of denim jeans or shorts, or decide to a go a little more dressy by wearing a midi dress, it’s always fun to wear those three colors together, and it always makes me feel more festive!

If you are still looking for the perfect Fourth of July outfit, I found the cutest striped dress and right now it is on sale, with an  additional 30% off, making it under $31.  As of right now, sizes are still stocked, but at this price, this dress is going to sell out quick!1

Hope you all have a Happy Fourth of July!

Pretty in Pink

Today is National Pink Day.  That’s right, a day dedicated to celebrating all things pink!  What girl doesn’t want to do something fun for this “holiday?”  I’ve come up with five fun ways to celebrate.

  1.  Buy something pink to add to your wardrobe, think dress, top, sandals, jewelry, or a swim suit. See below for my favorite pink picks.
  2.  Add a fun shade of pink to your lipstick or nail polish collection.  I’m loving these: Lip, Lip, Polish, Polish
  3.  Watch the 1980’s movie, “Pretty in Pink,” while munching on this pink popcorn.
  4.  Add something pink to one of your meals today.  This drink recipe (minus the vodka), this dessert, this dessert, and this dessert sound yummy.
  5.  Add a splash of pink to your home decor with a vase, flowers, or an art print.

Pink is one of those colors that is classic, chic, and trendy and in my opinion, looks great on everyone.  Not to mention, it just screams fresh and summery.  Here are some of my favorite Pink looks.
