There is a time and a place for everything. You would never go to the gym in a formal dress, just as you would never go to a red carpet event in a tee shirt and sweats. The same goes for being a busy mom of three. There are days when I need to be more dressed up for things such as parent teacher conferences,church, taking the kids to the doctor, or date night with my husband. However, sometimes on a weekend afternoon, there is nothing better than throwing on a T-shirt and jeans. Those are the days where a comfy T-shirt that is cute and sassy with a little bit of flair is the perfect fit. Thread Tank not only has the most unique tees, but they are the softest, most comfortable tees I own.
When I saw the Caffeine Queen tee, I knew this was one of those items I had to have. I know it’s a bad habit, but I drink Coke Zero pretty regularly from the time I wake up until the time I go to sleep. I’m sure I’m killing my insides, but like I said, it’s a bad habit, and one I don’t see fixing anytime soon.
The Lips & Lashes tee is cute and fun and I knew this would be a tee that I’d wear a ton. Wear it alone with a pair of jeans like I have it styled above, or add a denim or leather jacket to give it an entirely different look. This will be one I also see myself pairing with a fun skirt for the summer months. So many styling ideas!
I was born and raised in Utah, and to this day, still live here. While I’d love the opportunity to live somewhere else for a short period of time (say New York or Connecticut), I’m thankful that I am able to raise my family here. It’s a great state that has lots to offer, like those beautiful mountains in the background. I just wish it didn’t get so darn cold in the winter!

I remember when I was a kid, it seemed like it took forever for my birthday to finally arrive. Now that I’m older, I feel like it comes way too quickly. Anyone else feel the same way? I guess the good thing is, even though my age keeps climbing higher and higher up the charts, I still feel as though I’m 25.
What’s a birthday without cake? I was excited to partner with The Little Cake Shop for my birthday this year. They made this incredible and beautiful chocolate cake, with the white, black and gold decorations. My son’s favorite part was that the golden hearts were edible, not just decoration. It was so beautiful it was hard to cut into, but once we did, it tasted as good as it looked. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to go back to the store bought cake mix again after being spoiled this year by The Little Cake Shop.

Living in Utah, I have learned that to stay warm during those bitter winter months, the trick is learning to layer. The winter months are long and cold and so layering is key, if you want to stay warm and keep the heating bill at a minimum. One of the best pieces of clothing to have for layering, is a long sleeved striped top. There are so many different ways you can mix and match a striped tee. Add a denim jacket, a leather jacket, throw on a cardigan, or add a fun sleeveless sweater, like I did here. The styling options are endless, and the look will always end up different.
To finish off this look, I added a pair of over the knee boots , another staple for the cold weather. Not only do they look amazing on, but they help keep your legs warm, it’s a win/win. I seriously wear mine almost every day in the winter. The great part is, over the knee boots come at all price points, and can be found anywhere from Target to Bloomingdales. If you don’t have a pair in your closet, buy a pair, you’ll thank me later.
